Right. I did forget about the mind wipe.
And that line is spectacular.
That would actually be a sweet ending!
But wouldn't the adventure alert the fairies somehow? Or will this adventure not have much to do with the fairy race? Besides Holly's involvement and time travel, of course.

That'd be so sad though if Artemis forgot about Holly through a mind wipe, it was bad enough in TOD.

We know that Artemis never met the other fairies before. They were completely surprised when they encountered him the first time. Holly would've remembered. I can't see her acting so oblivious if she knew.
So when Artemis and co. go back in time, they can't have interacted with fairies. After the first one their helmets gave warning every time they went near his house.

But Holly is in Section 8 now. So maybe the LEP won't know about it. Remember, it were the LEP-helmets with the warning. We have no idea about Section 8 stuff, whether they have it too. If they knew about this, they might not have told LEP because meddling with history is very dangerous, who knows what could happen?

Section Eight only dealt with demons, though.
And when it involves a potentially dangerous criminal, they'd tell the LEP. Holly's life was in danger.
Section Eight only deals with time travel when it involves demons. This would not have involved demons.

You can always make exceptions, though. Maybe F-Vinyaya gave Holly a letter for P-Vinyaya, explaining it. We don't know Vinyaya that well, we don't know what she would do.

One thing we do know is that Vinyaya (being the kind soul she is) would do whatever she could to help in a situation. So I think the explanation letter could be a possibility. If not that, I think future Vinyaya would try and find another way of doing something along those lines.

Exactly. I think Vinyaya would do everything she could if she could help. She might even ignore some rules.

And that could be possible. Or he could be mind-wiped. *I'm sure that's been said before.* Hey, hold on. Artemis got interested in fairies because he found something about them on the internet, right? So what if he got mind-wiped, and then when he saw the thing about the fairies, his memory came a little bit back *you know, just like in TOD* and he got interested? What do you think?

Yeah, a partial recall could definitely happen. Maybe future Foaly rigged up Arty's computer so he would find that website somehow, so he could find out about the People again and save them later on.

I don't think Colfer will do too much messing with time, though it seems it will be hard not to.
But all of these things you guys have been discussing...it'll just make the books too confusing and open the door for major, major plot holes.
I hope the time travel stays relatively simple so nothing that big is changed. Conceivably, the whole plot line of all of the books could be changed if Artemis tells himself something and then he never messes with the fairies, or whatever.
Well, but then that never would have happened if he hadn't messed with the fairies.
I'm having issues with this already.

It is called The Time Paradox, I'm going to guess that it won't make sense entirely.

Are Fairies allowed to mindwipe other fairies?

I don't know- if they can't mesmerize each other, it's highly unlikely that they can mind-wipe each other. But nobody would know, would they? And I think there'd only be a few fairies at issue, like Holly- she could mind-wipe herself.
