Origami

Post by HollyShort9 » Sun 4th Dec 2011

Been obsessed with origami lately.
I've started on a project. I'm making a thousand paper cranes (doing at least five a day, preferably ten) and hanging them by strings of five to ten from my ceiling. Today was Day 1, Thread 1, Crane 10. The more I get, the more pictures I post. I might not post pictures daily because I'll feel spammy if I do that (unless you guys want me to do daily updates when I hang them up), but I'll be posting a lot of pictures of the 1,000 Crane project as I make more and more and hang them in different places at different angles and whatnot. XD I might post pictures of different origami that I try, I don't know.
Two pictures today, FOR YEWH :D
Ich/Uno/One

Nii/Dos/Two, my personal favorite of the two

:3
Also, note that today was my first time EVER making paper cranes so the cranes themselves will also improve as I go along XD

we're all stories in the end. just make it a good one, eh? because it was, you know. it was the best.

Oooh. I have several box fulls of cranes, from when I decided with a bunch of friends to make several thousand. I'm pretty sure we have more than 3or 4 thousand in total.

I have a lot of fortune tellers stacked up on top of each other in rainbow order. : ) Fortune tellers and throwing stars (shurikens) are the only things that I can make out of origami! XD (I have a small box of throwing stars too. ^^) I really want to learn to make cranes- I'll have to ask my mum. :) I think it's a lovely idea, anyway, making 1000 paper cranes!

And the video was based off of a legend in Japan that making a thousand paper cranes grants your wish. XD

But I'm not good at tutorials >>

Nice, nice.

I still think you'd do well in a tutorial.

Oh well. :)

I guess this is basically the only art I'm good at. XD I know only a few different animals, but I've sort of mastered them. I know an origami flapping crane, inflatable rabbit, hopping frog, an origami fortune teller, and a butterfly. I wish I could find a way to post photos... XP

And the 1000 paper crane thing reminds me of Sadako Sasaki.. which makes me sad..

Oooh, nice HollyShort9! They're so pretty! I personally love origami. I wanted to fold 100, but I gave up because of paper problems. Instead I fold like a hundred other stuff

Yeah, that's such a sad story. My parents didn't want me to read it at first in grade 3...
