True to the books or not?
Would you rather the film(s) stay completely, 100% true to the books? Or do you think it would be better for them to stray somewhat? My first instinct is to say the former, but I'm kind of torn. Any thoughts?

Re: True to the books or not?
If the first two books will be combined into a single movie, they'll probably stray anyway..
Personally I won't mind if they leave stuff out, but it would bother me if they changed things or added a plotline or romance that never happened *cough*thehobbit*cough*.

That's a valid point - I do think that if the first two books were combined into one film, some stuff would definitely be left out, unfortunately. And I agree with the unnecessary plotlines, it's such a shame when that happens.

As long as they keep the same basic plot and don't whitewash the characters of color (and the elves!) I'll be happy. The worst adaptation I've seen was Ella Enchanted and did BOTH of these things.

I would much rather it stay as close to the books as possible with a few changes, like maybe having to age Artemis up, kind of like what happened with Percy Jackson. Thing is, people tend to think of the movie before the book, which is why I'd like to see the film get as close to book one as possible.
