Re: Anime or Non-anime?
Seeing that i forgot to post whether or not it should be animetated or with real people, so I would to say that it depends. the people who play the characters hav to look and sound like what people would imagine, or if it were animetated they would just hav to sound like them. So, like i said, it depends.

I think it would be good either way, but real people would be better.

Re: Anime or Non-anime?
Personnally, I think anime. They'd be able to make the fairies short, do flying easily, and one word, centaurs! Anime would make the whole thing faster.

To solve a mystery, you sometimes need to take risks.

Re: Anime or Non-anime?
While it is definitely true that the Artemis Fowl property is not particularly popular in Japan despite having the books translated there, I think that culturally speaking, the cast of characters translate very well to that Shonen-boy type of anime. Many Japanese artists and animators have experience making Western pop-culture heroes into high-production animated features (Batman Gotham Knight, PowerPuff Girls Z, Halo Legends) All they have to do is make the style a good balance of gritty and quirky, and not use a cheap flat art style with large eyes.
Whenever I imagine Artemis Fowl music videos in my head, I imagine the now non-existent anime series of it with shots that are direct homages of the death note anime.
Like whenLight Yagami gets his memories back/Artemis getting his memories back in book 4
or dramatic shots of flipping through the pages of the fairy book, or Artemis in imposing standing poses/angles like Light Yagami when he is plotting.

Anime. Easier to make.
I emit a chaos field which distorts time and space and creates chaos everywhere around me. That's why my room is always a mess.

Re: Anime or Non-anime?
Anime. Simply because I love it.
Reasons why? Fine.
1. They take too long to plan the movie. Grr.
2. You don't have to look the part, you need to SOUND like the part. (That is easier.)
3. No expensive sets and background and scenery and costumes. All ya need is a computer and art supplies.
4. People can play multiple parts if they are a good voice actor therefore reducing prices. (Remember the guy that voices Appa? He also voices Momo.)
5. IT INCREASES JOBS FOR ARTISTS!
And that's all I can think of right now.

Re: Anime or Non-anime?
but doesn't anime cost alot?
that's from yahoo answers, so it's most likely true considering there's another answer to a similar question saying that anime cost alot, and i don't think movie makers have an unlimited budget so you have to think about the cost, and it might be cheaper just to get actors to act for it.According to various websites, the average cost of making a 30 minute TV episode requires 10 million yen to produce. This includes broadcasting, advertising, licensing, and all that jazz. This is why most anime take cost-cutting measures, since most anime is under a set budget. Techniques include panning across a scene, re-using animated sequences, and zooming in or out of a particular scene.

Re: Anime or Non-anime?
As I have stars before anime is only a term used for Japanese produced animation. And I highly doubt the movie will be Japanese.

Re: Anime or Non-anime?
I wish they could... but it's impossible. The cost...
But they'd be able to properly convey the stories. And I'm sure other countries would LOVE it.
