^She does act pretty good in her music videos. She even managed to pretend-cry and make it look real in "Teardrops on My Guitar". I don't think she'd be a total flop at acting.

we're all stories in the end. just make it a good one, eh? because it was, you know. it was the best.

She'd also be able to afford really good drama instructors. True they wouldn't turn her into an amazing actress, but she would certainly do good. It would be so cool seeing Taylor Swift do Martial Arts!

I've looked at other possibilities for Juliet and I think this is the best one.

Re: OMG! PERFECT JULIET!
She's what I like to call "way too white." She should have some asian features, I actually think they should hire an asian actress and dye her hair blonde. Keiko Agena (Laine from the Gilmore Girls) is very pretty and I'm sure can look tough, Lucy Liu might be too old, but could really play the part if she was asked to, plus, there have got to be a million asian actresses who could play the part better than Taylor Swift (who is not an actress).
She is Eurasian, but you would think she would retain some of her asian features.
What about Saemi Nakamura? She's beautiful, she's talented, she looks young enough, and if they dyed her hair blonde she could play the part really well.

I just don't think a singer without acting experience who doesn't look the right race for the part should play it. The only real feature I see in common between Juliet and Taylor Swift is the blonde hair, and hair color shouldn't make them perfect for a part when you can so easily change hair color for a more suited actress. If hair color decided the actress, then Julia Roberts would be playing Holly... even though, let's not think that might happen because that would give me nightmares.

I can't see her acting the part, P5... I think Taylor Swift would be much better.

Re: OMG! PERFECT JULIET!
When I see Taylor swift, I think "Whitest White girl who ever lived" and "Probably couldn't beat anyone up," so I can't really see her as Juliet.
But Keiko Agena would also be great for the role, even though she looks a bit less lethal.

Lauren Tom is a bit old to play the role now, but if the movie's animated, she would be perfect for the voice. (She plays just about every asian character on Animated TV shows... Numbah 3, Amy Wong, and so on...)

Then again, Keiko Agena has played what's-her-name on Kim Possible... You know, Ron's Japanese Ninja Stereotype girlfriend? So, if the movie's animated, either of these actresses would be perfect.
Then again again, as much as people love Juliet, there's a good chance she won't be a major character in the first movie... She was sort of a background player throughout the first book, and only made her debut as a main character in book 3. So, at this point, they'll probably go with some up-and-coming actress from open auditions, or pick someone out of a commercial or an extra from a big-budget movie, I doubt they're looking for "Star Quality" in the role of Juliet.
However, if they do go with star quality, I hope they go with an asian girl instead of casting some white girl. (Same deal for Holly and Butler... Holly should be of a darker complexion and Butler should look asian.)

Re: OMG! PERFECT JULIET!
Well, I still really like the idea of Taylor Swift. Not only is she an awesome singer (my only favorite country singer), but she sure does look the part. Cute but tough. The kind of girl who could take down a whole gang of ninjas and still be able to do her hair in record time.
I just hope she can act, and if she can, then there we go!

Re: OMG! PERFECT JULIET!
But don't you think this whitest white girl who ever whited, with no asian characteristics, no documented acting ability, and an american southern accent would seem out of place playing a eurasian girl who lives in ireland?
Don't you think an Asian or Eurasian professional actress who actually looks and sounds the part would be better?
Plus, on the off-chance that this movie isn't animated, they'll probably want someone with Martial Arts experience?
Plus, like I said, Juliet is not going to be a main character in this movie. They might go for a slightly-famous child actor for Artemis, and they'll definitely go for physical appeal and star quality with holly (That's how they get dads and older brothers to take kids to kiddie movies. Makes sense, doesn't it?). Maybe they'll get an action star for Butler (also should be asian or eurasion.)

I think she looks pretty Eurasian... And she can act, I think, if she shot some clips, we could be able to see it. And you can learn an accent!

Re: OMG! PERFECT JULIET!
But why go to the trouble to teach someone to act, to do an accent, and martial arts skills when there are hundreds and hundreds of actresses that are already qualified, who do not require any training? They'd really be losing money by casting her, by paying to train Taylor Swift to do things another option could already do at the audition.

Re: OMG! PERFECT JULIET!
We don't know whether she can act. She could be a natural talent. Most people who can sing, can act, or is that just generalising things? If you never try it out, how would you know? Maybe she can do a really good accent too.

Re: OMG! PERFECT JULIET!
Okay, guys!
For one: They can straighten her hair if the actress needs to have straight hair, they can make it wavy etc. etc. etc.
For two: P5, I'm sorry but I can not picture those girls acting Juliet. They look... too.... non-Juliet-ish for me.
For three: We don't even KNOW if she can act, she could be a good actress and a good singer!
So please stop complaining about stupid things like "Oh she doesn't look Asian enough!" or "Oh she doesn't have WAVY hair or STRAIGHT hair she really needs that!!!" This is going to be like the FIFTH time I used this wording, so please listen this time:
SKIN COLOR AND WAVY HAIR OR STRAIGHT HAIR OR CURLY ETC. DOES NOT MATTER. For example: Read the Twilight book. First one. Then watch the movie trailer. In the book, Laurent is pale white and has sleek black hair he wears in a ponytail. In the movie, Laurent has dark skin and dreadlocks. Who cares? As long as most people think she looks like Juliet, it doesn't matter.

Sorry, didn't notice this until now. The second thing, isn't that the whole thing of Juliet? People don't think she can beat anyone up, until she does it.
