Good News!

Which actors would you like to cast? What do you want to see? What would you do if you were the director?

Its not so much a debate topic, but it is good news about this movie! :D

Ive just found this, in an interview with Eoin Colfer :D

?I?ve been spending a lot of time in Dublin with a famous director, I can?t say his name, and we?ve been trying to work out a screen story,? Colfer says. ?If he likes what he sees, it?s going to go ahead very quickly.?

Yay? :jump:

Yay, yay, YAYYYYY!!!!!!

Today I was watching Italian movie channel and I wasn't interested until I heard the name of Robert de Niro... and suddenly I was all years, cos De Niro is producer of Artemis Fowl!!! But the programme was only about his filmography. I was really disappointed. :(

But the news are great B)

Btw. Don't you think that maybe it's better that the film is moving so slowly? HP started almost immediately, when books' popularity was growing very fast, and see what came out of it. A total crap (but it's only my opinion ^_^ )
P.J. fighted five years to get a chance to film LotR, and see what came out of it. The movie was not ideal, but it was great anyway.

So... we've been waiting about four years? (correct me if I'm wrong). If every year of waiting would make the movie better, then I could wait another four.

Harry Potter was or is kinda crappy. No offense to the fans. :D
Peter Jackson actually spent more than just 5 years. :D ask my sister about it. :D She knows.

Anyway,

Work out a screen story? Does that mean the movie is not gonna be based on the books, and they're making a different story? Or does it mean that they're finding a way to make the book into a movie?

Hey, wait as long as we want, as long as an AF movie comes out, it's worth the wait. :D

I think yous have a point, that rushing things is definitely a bad idea. But on the other hand, the obsessive fan part of me jumps at the idea of the movie getting under way! Im really excited about it - So the more that happens, the better :D

And of course, I cant wait to have proper images to work with for FanGathering. :D

Hobboy - The screen story is just how theyre going to adapt the book, to make it into the best movie possible :)

It will definitely be based on Artemis Fowl though :D

HEY!!! WAIT A MINUETE!!!!!!!!!

COME ON IF WE WAIT ANOTHER FOUR YEARS SOME FANS MIGHT EXPLODE!!!

IN MY OPINION IT'S THE DIRECTOR'S FALT WHETHER OR NOT IT IS CRAPPY! AND NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT IS THERE IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE SOME IDIOT WHO THINKS IT IS ALFUL!!

ALSO MOST MOVIES MADE FROM BOOKS ARE CRAPPY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF "HOLES".

PLEASE UNDERSTAND I AM NOT YELLING. MY KEYBOARD IS ACTING SCREWY. :tantrum: :tantrum:

I guess youre right - Nomatter what happens, it will never be perfect for everyone :( (Especially not us extreme fans - Who already have our own little views of the AF world. :( )

But it should still be a great movie to see :D

True. But don't you think maybe if we expect too much, and the movie doesn't live up to our expectations, then, bam! Disappointment?

I agree. ^_^

Yes, LOTR was fantastic. A lot of wrong details and plot deviations, but nevertheless, brilliant. And it's good that Colfer would be working closely with the production... We have a guarantee that the upcoming films would be also true to Colfer's wishes. Well, almost. XD

Still if we love Artimas Fowl seiries shouldn't we we should be able to live with a few minor adjestments? It might tick a few people off, but thee is always someone out there never satisfied.

Yes. I'm sure most of those "minor" changes would go for a better, more logical, and movie-inclined AF story. I heard a Harry Pot(head), err, Potter movie was made exactly as how it was in the book, and had some, bad, umm, if not disastrous reviews. So, I am sure it would be a better film if there were alterations to the original story. :D

GREAT NEWS!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!! Honestly, whenever I am in the cinema, all through the trailers I'm jumping around in my seat waiting for the Artemis Fowl trailer XD When I do see it, I will really have to hold my screams in until I get home :jump:

I agree though, rushing it is a bad idea, but C'MON PEOPLE!!! WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR 4 YEARS!!! Isn't that not-rushed enough?!

Juliet Butler- I agree with you! Maybe some bits won't look quite as good as they are in the book transferred onto the screen (e.g tech problems...well it could be possible <_< ) and as long as the overall movie is absolutely brilliant, I will be so happy! :D (and don't worry, capitals make your ideas stand out :P )

lmao FAB - Youre a little early for trailors still im afraid :P

And trust me, as soon as one is released, it will be on FanGathering for ya to watch whenever ya like ;)

Anyways - So long as they are minor changes, then its cool. Obviously they dont make changes for the sake of it, so if the filming crew thing its right, then it probably is :)
