Elves and Humans

Post by Ash Kelp » Thu 24th May 2012

This RP has already started, but feel free to join. (Please skim over what's been going on already before joining, so that you know what's going on.)

And here’s the intro:

In the peaceful land of Elvaron there were two races, the humans, and the elves. A couple years later, trouble strikes, a horde of goblins enter the land and wage war with the humans, the humans respond quickly, and pretty soon Elvaron is covered in blood. To stop this the elves built a huge fortress between the humans and the goblins, most of the elven army was stationed there, which meant that the old elf lands were completely undefended when the goblins attacked, burning it to the ground. The elves, furious, decided to make two task forces to handle the goblins, one made up of humans, one made up of elves. The main goal of the strike teams were to scout the goblin army, find out how technicologically advanced the are, how many warriors the have. However, while doing that half of each of the strike forces were killed in a fight. The remaining forces grouped together, elves and humans vs. goblins, the goblins have a big advantage: they know that we are here, they also have an army so huge it makes us look like ants to a giant. So the strike team has to hide in the woods surrounding the goblins and try and scout them without getting caught. The main challenges of the Strike force is to survive each other as well as the elements/goblins.

Late edit//: Goblics are elite Goblins, they are smarter and stronger and bigger than regular goblins.

Creatures (We need more Humans) :
Humans - Humans have better magical powers but aren't as agile and fast as Elves.
Elves - as said above elves have worse magical powers but are more fast and agile.

Rules:
No god-moding, except for goblins.
All of the Forum and site rules apply.
And please try not to hog the RP, let everyone have a chance to post something.

Name (last name optional): Esther Ferguson
Personality: Quiet, normally irritated if you try to talk to her about something (unless it's some mission). If she's in a good mood (normally if she's winning a fight or about to go to battle) she'll make clever remarks and will work better than normal with other people. Esther's also very smart.
Description: Unusually bright turquoise eyes and long black hair with dark turquoise streaks in it. Slightly pale skin and is tall and slim. Likes to wear black.
Favorite weapons: A silver dagger with a blade almost a foot long that always stays sharp and her boots, which, when she's kicking someone, sharps spikes come out from the soles and will stab you.
Magical powers (limit two): Esther is telekinetic, therefore she can make things float up in the air or out of your hand easily by just using her mind. She can also read minds.
Non-magical special abilities: She has amazing strength, so she could still attack you even if she was shot in the shoulder or leg. She's also pretty agile.
Back round story (what creature are you, where did you come from, occupation before being on the strike team.): Elf. She didn't really have an official job before the squad, but in the past she was hired a few times as an assassin, even though she was young. She never knew her father and her mother neglected her a lot, so she had a beaten childhood. She never talks about it, but has a strong taste for harsh justice because of it.
Position on the team: "Main Attacker", the one who gets sent after goblins normally first
Age: 19

Name (last name optional): Erma
Personality: Very young. Always optimistic, tries to see the best in every person and situation. Does only kill if really necessary. Has a big heart and like to chat. Alot.
Description: Blonde, almost white, long hair, slim but muscular, blue eyes, normal height for a female human. There is almost always a smile on her lips, but she keeps serious in a fight.
Favorite weapons: Bow and arrow. She also wears a dagger in gold, given to her by her father.
Magical powers (limit two): Talks with animals.
Non-magical special abilities: She's a quick runner, and she never misses when she aims.
Background story (what creature are you, where did you come from, occupation before being on the strike team.): Human. Grew up with her caring and encouraging father, who died in the war when she was thirteen. Even though she is young, she has been well trained by her father. Wants peace between the races more than anything.
Position on the team: Private(?) Doesn't have a special position.
Age: 16

(okay, i think we now have enough people so lets start this RP!!!)

Lucan was tracking a group of goblins with snowball, the goblins looked like they were doing a search grid around the camp, so Lucan had decided to take care of them. Being the oldest and therefore most experinced on the team was fun, it meant that he was always sent to investigate stuff that happened. Tracking the small group of goblins had been easy, now that he was caught up with them he would kill them. Lucan had already killed three of the eleven with arrows before they noticed him. "Look, an Elf, get him!" A goblin shouted, although it was probably unneccesary, the other goblins were already charging at Lucan, who killed two more goblins with his bow before switching to his daggers. Slicing two in half he then kicked one into a tree, however the other three were on him before he could move, surrounding him with their swords, "Snowball, now!" Lucan shouted, watching as the bobcat bowled into the remaining goblins, then went at them with his claws. Lucan killed the goblin he had kicked against the tree, then helped Snowball with the rest of them. "Good going Snowball, now lets go back to camp." Lucan said, walking towards the campground.

Esther Ferguson squinted her eyes against the wind. She stood at the edge of the camp. Everyone knew that Lucan had gone out to chase off (by 'chase off' she meant 'kill') some goblins hanging around the camp, but it had been a while and Esther was getting suspicious. She was about to exit the camp, equipped with her custom black leather spiked boots and her dagger near. She tentatively stepped out of the camp. Where was he? Probably having some fun throwing some goblins around. Esther considered doing a mind search through the woods before her, to see if she could locate Lucan's mind, when she heard the unmistakable cry of goblins being slayed. Esther backed into camp, knowing that Lucan was doing just fine.

Lucan stopped suddenly, slowly reaching a hand back to his quiver. In one move he had shot the goblin who had followed him from the last campground.

Zayna was hunting a deer. She ran up to it & cut off it's head. It was a quick, painless death. The deer was eating a a patch of blackberries. She scooped up the blackberries & carried the deer like a potato sack back to camp.

Erma was alone in the camp. Zayna was hunting, Lucan was probably killing goblins somewhere and Esther had gone looking for him. The air was cold and she pulled her coat tighter around herself. Sometimes she felt useless. She could definitly not hunt, like Zayna used to do. Normal elves and humans looked at the animals like they were non-thinking tools, or just food. But when you could actually speak with them and know their feelings, like Erma, to kill them was just like killing an innocent civilian. She took her dagger out of its sheath and balanced the edge on her fingertips.

Lucan saw Esther looking for him just outside of camp, sneaking past her he walked into camp with Snowball, and the suplies he looted from the dead Goblins, goblins were easy to kill, it was the elite Goblics that you had to worry about, those could actually take on an Elf and last more then five seconds.

Esther waited a few more minutes without seeing Lucan. She sighed and headed back to camp. She wasn't surprised when she saw him going through some of the goblins' stuff. She didn't say anything when she walked past him. Esther headed to where she was set up at the other side of camp, feeling bored. Sitting down on her cot, she was about to kick off her boots when she smelled something strange. Not that it wasn't unfamiliar-- that was goblin. "Looks like he didn't get 'em all," she thought to herself. She jumped out of the tent, making no move to sneak up on it. She ended up face to face with an ugly, greenish, surprised face that was attached to the body which held a knife. She then kicked him hard in his nose, spikes protruding from her boots. Esther stabbed him once with her dagger, killing him instantly. Then, she leaped with ease into a nearby tree. Three very dead goblins dropped out of the branches two seconds later. Esther dragged them all into her tent, holding the first goblin's knife in her hand. She called to Lucan or anyone else who could hear her from her tent.

Lucan heard a shout, grabbing his swords he ran out, seeing more goblins running toward the camp he reached for an arrow, after realizing his quiver was empty he charged forward expecting to kill goblins left and right, but he soon learned a suprise. "Some of them are Goblics, watch out!" Lucan yelled, reaching for some arrows and his bow, after shooting some of them he drew his swords again and danced around the camp, killing Goblins and goblics left and right.

Esther jumped up, weilding her dagger and the goblin's knife in each hand. She yelled a sort of a battle cry, mixed with enthusiasm. Stabbing one goblin and impaling another on her boots, she left her tent, getting right into the thick of things. There were more of them than she expected. Esther slid her dagger into her belt and punched one of them with her free hand. She stomped on top of him with her spikes, and continued running. Finally. Some action, she thought. Esther tackled one of them and stabbed another, then moved on, getting closer to the woods with every goblin she took down. The majority of them lay on the ground with holes in the shape of a footprint in their backs. Esther took a deep breath and leaped onto the wide back of a nearby goblic.

Name (last name optional): Imogen Hunter
Personality: Doesn't interact much, takes everything literally. Quite logical. Can get very annoying after a while (think Foaly and Mulch!)
Description: Shoulder-length brown hair, average human height. Blue eyes. Always has a bag containing important posessions, e.g. books, spare supplies (food, first aid kit)
Favorite weapons: Her brain.
Magical powers (limit two): Shielding/invisiblility, gift of tongues.
Non-magical special abilities: Knows the area quite well. As said above, Imo is logical.
Background story (what creature are you, where did you come from, occupation before being on the strike team.): Human, lost her memory so does not remember where she's from. Is pretty sure she has a family somewhere else. Before being on the team she was wandering in the forest, she stumbled upon the camp by luck.
Position on the team: Scout/recon 'team'
Age: 15 in human years

Imo heard the shouts of goblins and Snowball's yowls, and ran out of her tent. Climbing the steps of a guard tower, she hurriedly scanned the scene before her. There was a large group of goblins, and she could just see Esther and Lucan in their midst. Imo was a pacifist by nature (which was the main reason she wasn't in the hit squad) and didn't like to attack unless she would be in danger otherwise, but there were exeptions to the rule and this was one of them. Racing down the ladder, she grabbed some pebbles from around the base and scuttled back up, and began throwing them with all her might. She saw them land, but did not know who she hit or if it had been effective.

(Thank you so much for joining! I hope you have fun. :welcome:)

"Yow!" Lucan cried as a pebble hit him in the head, two other goblins next to him went down when pebbles hit them, Lucan grabbed his bow and started bow bashing every goblin or goblic in range. Snowball bowled into a group of five, knocking them down and pinning them. After finishing them of with her claws, Snowball set to work on a goblic who was aiming an arrow at someone.
