"A bewitching mix of 'Lord of the Rings' and James Bond." -- Buffalo News

I can understand how AF is similar to James Bond, in that it is fast-paced, action packed and funny. But aside from the mention of dwarves (completely different to LOTR dwarves XD ), how is AF similar to Lord of the Rings?

I cant link artemis to lord of the rings at all. Theyre just too different. There really was no room for humour in lord of the rings. It was far more serious, epic and middle-ages :S

I think that the writer, in his/her desperate attempt to make people read AF, has resorted to false analogy. AF:LOTR+James Bond? Not!

LOTR fans, after reading that review, would want to read AF.

The same thing goes for James Bond fans.

I think whoever wrote that has lost ideas.

they r both ment for dif age groups...
LOTR is very complex, dark, long with language only advanced readers could understand.
also it based on a complete fantasy land...
artimis fowl is simpler with lanfguage and plots, and also in the fact that ppl can relate to it more easily
LOTR deals with love and death....
its a tad to morbid for 11 yr olds and younger... well i think (i might b wrong..)
