Ya I noticed all these names the FIRST time I read the series when I saw Artemis' name.So since I saw HIS name I found meanings in every name....like Frond is like a kind of plants' leaves.and Arno Blunt=am not stupid.
Its like everyone means something and there are hints to what they mean. :jump:
I felt soooo good finding out what their names mean!!
Sorry if someone already put these names!
 :ipod: :horse: :starwars: :tantrum: RANDOM

Hm, good point.

I noticed the Arno Blunt thing. And "Lilly" is a type of flower, so "lilly" and "frond"...

It would be funny if someone was named "Sadden LaMent." Get it? Sad and Lament? Lol, laaammee.

Yes, I am back! I have been super-dee-dooper busy. I just got back from vacation and I said to myself, "As soon as I get back, I am going to start posting on FG again. I miss those guys!" And I did miss you! I loved talking about AF with people who actually care! I might not be posting a lot in the next few days because there's still alot to do around our house, but I swear posts will start rushing in soon." Love you all!!!!

I know it's not anything big but in TEC juliet says "and the triplets beau, mo and joe." and in TLC minerva says "beau paradizo, you little brat."
Do you think it is very significant?

ya, Eion must be a fan of Greek mythology, cuz Minerva, is the last name of a Greek goddess, Athena.
there once was a twelve year old boy, who's computer was his favourite toy,
but when he captured a fairy, things got a little hairy,
for he's easy to annoy.

I personally love the names of Greek and Roman mythology. Minerva is the Roman equivalent of the Greek Athena. Artemis...Artemis... I forget what the Roman equivalent was...

Ares is a cool name. So is Persephone, and Hera.

The Roman version of Artemis is Diana.

My favorite name in the series, in terms of what it means, is probably either Foaly, Spiro, or Cudgeon. In terms of how they sound though, my favorite is Artemis Fowl.

Artemis is a totally awesome name, and I loved it even before I started reading it. It just sounds so cool.

(Now I remember. Diana.)

you can tell Eion did a lot of research in the making of his books, but that's what writers do

Of course, since millions of people would read them. They woudn't want to get angry fan mail saying they got something wrong. I certainly wouldn't. How embarrassing would that be?

I would name my first son Artemis, I totally love the name! I also like the goddess, she's not only the goddess of archery, but also of independance, and I always want to be independent, so she's my goddess :D

I wouldn't call my son Artemis ut I would call my daughter  Lili is also a really nic name for a girl and so Holly. If I have a daughter I'll call her Holly, if I have two Holly and Lili, if I have three Holly, Lili and Opal :D No, kidding, I'll give them Italian names. Unfortunately the only Italian names in the series are Carla and Minerva. No, I'll never cal my daughter Minerva :nope:
"....possibly Vinyàya. She's always had a thing for me, devilshly attractive as I am"
"You're joking, of course."
"I never joke."
