Wait, when they lose their magic from going in a human dwelling do they lose it forever? Or is there a way to get it back?
This is from Hazel the Brilliant

I agree with MMK. In the Artemis Fowl Files, it describes it says that if they stay in a dwelling for a long amount of time, they lose their magic. I don't think it's really a certain number of chances, or that their magic decreases in power. It's just there, then it's gone. And no, I also don't think that there's a way to get it back.
What can I say to end my post?
It might be a quote I value most.
It might be a cute and clever pun,
It might be a picture of someone
I love, or me, or a celebrity.
And though I have no such ending,
I hope you enjoyed this little thing.
A poem is all I have to say
Hello, and hope you have a good day.

I disagree with you. Wasn't it in TAFF that Trouble (it was him, right?) would have to have an infuse with something, but that his magic would never be the same?

My original post that she was referring to:
MMK wrote:I think that it just happens gradually- if you step into a house, then leave at once, there are no long term effects. If you are stuck in a house, as Trouble was in the AF files, then your magic slowly leaves you. It says that he needed an infusion from warlocks to keep his magic after being in the house so long. It makes sense, given that they all still seem to have all of their magic.

I agree with Salili that there's no "set number of chances", but I do think there is either a decrease in power or in quantity of magic if a fairy stays in a dwelling for too long.

Oh, and Trouble's magic was returned to 100% because of the infusion from warlocks. Which, come to think of it, sounds sort of like how Artemis got his magic. I wonder if they can do that to anybody...

Mangaman: They do lose their magic- look at Mulch.

In TLC, I think, Eoin says you lose your magic after spending a few hours in a dwelling, after enduring painful cramps and vomiting.

Yes, I think that it is like a slowly decreasing process, not like one minute it's thee and the next it isn't. You have to puke for a bit first. :(

Sounds like a painful process, almost deathly. You know, it's sad that in TTP the hex is lifted, just think, if all those fairies had waited....

In one of the books it says that fairies loose there magic "after several hours of painful vomiting and cramps" so I agree with MMK that it happens gradually.

Yeah. In some ways, that makes it seem almost unlikely that any fairy would be THAT willing to lose their magic.

True. Maybe the first time is like a warning and if you violate the rule again then you start to loose your magic really quickly.

Well... only prolonged exposure would take down the magic, and they were inside for barely a minute.

I think their magic slowly weakens and if you stay in a house for too long, or housebreak repeatedly *cough* Mulch *cough* then they lose their magic :)
