#18 A sight for sore eyes

Post by Nicole_artist » Wed 30th Jan 2008

Before I tell you what the challenge is I would like to apologise for (once again) being slack with putting up a new challenge. Forgive me? *holds Pocky out pleadingly)

Okay, this challenge is to express your Artemis fan-ness in a "comic", created by you. It doesn't have to be just Artemis though, it can be any character in the series. Now, I know what some of you're thinking: "Hey, that's not fair! I can't draw!" Don't panic. I'm judging you for creativity, not artistic talent. Draw stick figures if you want. As long as the comic is creative enough, it doesn't matter. Heck, you can make it out of macaroni if you want.

It can be either a scene out of the book or a scenario you make up. You can make a cross-over with other books, or put the characters in a totally random and/or weirdish situation. (Hint: I like randomness.)

So, basically I'm giving you artistic license here. Anything goes, as long as it's some kind of "comic" (even one of those one panel comics with a one-liner down the bottom) containing an image. Now, go forth and make great works! (Or something) :D

Any questions, just ask.
Manga rules. So does anime. And so does Pocky. What does this tell us?
Japan should make cartoons and chocolate, not bombs and whale shish kabob.

This and other obvious statements brought to you by:

*cough*
Is anyone going to enter? C''mon, I'm judging creativity, not artistic talent! You can use smiley heads for all it matters. And if you don't have a scanner, create stick people in Paint! As long as it's funny, I really don't mind.

*tumbleweed blows past*

(-_-) < well this sucks...)

See look, you can even make them out of text like I did above!

This is basically a bump, because I just posted messages in all of the old threads, locking them, and this is the most recent so it really should be at the top. :D

But way to be talented people. :p

2 things.

1. My mom's camera is dead and even if it wasn't, I have NO idea how to upload pictures onto the computer off of it.

2. I SUCK at drawing.

Could I just do somethin like... those smilie stories? Would that count? You know like

"Artemis was mad :tantrum:" (that was just an example) would that work?

we're all stories in the end. just make it a good one, eh? because it was, you know. it was the best.

Judging! Yaaaaay! People entered!

1st Place: darvit - ahahahah! That would be the fangirls all right! (But I think his very worst nightmare would be where he found his bank balance empty, the paint on the Fairy Thief cracked and he was completely surrounded by people cracking their knuckles. Your picture is very good too, (you drew that on a whiteboard? ) even though I said that I wasn't judging artistic talent.
2nd Place: Soulcatcher - good twist on an old Disney! Eheheh... did you trace that or draw it freehand? If freehand, wow! :D
3rd Place: PhoenixRSA - Yes, you can draw stick figures and still get a place! :D Good captions and portrayals (it's the words that make it!).

So close: BlackOpal. Good line at the end, but wasn't all that exciting before it. You came really close to 3rd though!

To anyone else who entered: I didn't really notice... if anyone else DID enter that is...

Now, I have an announcement to make. As you all know, I've been rather... infrequent... with the challenges lately. That is because school has started and I have a lot of assignments and an obscure obsession with perfection. This has led to both sleep-deprivation, TV-deprivation (although not too much, I wouldn't want my brain to starve XD) and pretty much no spare time. So now I'm getting fired from Challenge Master. :(
Just kidding. :D BlackOpal has noticed my lack of... uhh... presence, and asked me if I want to resign from the job (or privilege, I should say ^_^). And since I don't want to deprive you challenge-enterers of an attentive (and present) Challenge Master, I decided it was for the best. So, this'll probably be the last you'll hear from me as a Challenge Master (I don't think that title is right, but my brain is too dead to think properly at the moment), but hopefully sometime I'll be able to return to this site and post... um... posts every now and then when I am not chained to the small mountain of assignments that seems to follow me wherever I go.
So minusan sayonara, anata tachi wa monosugoi des!

Hehe.. leave you with some Japanese to figure out.
