What Act of Self-Care Did You Do Today?

Post by Cabaline » Sat 1st Aug 2020

I believe that self-care is super important and that you need to do regular self-care to keep healthy physically, mentally and socially ^_^

Some people try to do large acts of self-care once every couple of weeks, but it's my opinion that little and often is better. I think that everyone should do a small act of self-care every day, but I know better than anyone that it is so easy to forget! :)

So this thread is going to serve as a reminder to you, to do something nice for yourself no matter how little it is, to care for some aspect of your health! :D

I'll start us all off:
My act of self-care was to soak my feet in my foot spa and moisturise them afterwards with baby oil. My feet were super dry and this cared for them physically. The focussed pamper time also made me get out of my own head, and enjoy the tactile experience ^_^

On board, full steam ahead, as always!

Today my act of self-care included brushing my teeth, engaging in a walk along the beach for physical and mental wellness, consuming food at regular intervals, and reading a book! :D

My little act of self-care today was a luxurious shower! :D

I exfoliated twice, two different ways, I did a deep conditioning hair mask, I epilated, I used my pore vacuum on my face to get smoooooth skin, I did a collagen under-eye mask on my bags and I moisturised the areas I epilated to keep them soft and smooth :D I now feel clean and pampered ^_^

Today's act of self care included washing my hair! I missed my other day so my hair certainly appreciated the act of self-care.
My teeth also liked being brushed. I think they did anyway.

Today's act of self-care was opening my mail as soon as I got it (I am really bad for not opening my mail when I feel overwhelmed). One of the letters was a physiotherapy referral asking me to call them to book a consultation, and I did it almost straight away and got it all sorted out for tomorrow (via phone)! :D
This is gonna be so good for my physical health since my shoulder has been bothering me lots ^_^

Today I went and did some minor shopping, indulging in a case of pop as well as picking up a set of charcoal toothbrushes. I'm curious to see if I'll notice a difference between my plain jane brush.

I also fed my vehicle petrol.....which isn't necessarily direct self care...but indirectly, keeping my steed well and healthy helps me.

I did my physiotherapy assessment over the phone! The physio was able to tell me so much and he is going to send over some physio exercises for me to do and call me back in 4 weeks. This is going to be so good for me and help me get my range back and reduce my pain! I am looking forward to it. :D
And to make sure that I do the exercises when I am supposed to, I am going to use this thread to hold me accountable ^_^

^ Got my eye on you! 🧐

Nothing very exciting for today, I did my usual bit, exercise, shower, food. I did some gaming as well. Hoping I'll do a little more reading tomorrow! I'm kind of getting into the second Wrinkle book :D

I did the physio exercises that I could do without my exercise bands (they should be arriving tomorrow). I did a bunch of work, making lessons and worksheets and stuff. And then I felt down so I watched some Doctor Who, which always makes me feel fuzzy.

I did a deep brush with my teeth, using the specialized two-step paste. They may never be pearly white, but apparently they were white enough to gleam in the pitch blackness and appear creepy. So that's a win :D

I did a deep conditioning hair mask. It always feels like I'm pampering myself, even though I'm just trying to tame my dry and split ends that are way overdue to be chopped. I do think it is getting better! I got complimented on my hair the other day so it must be making a difference :D

Today I made an indulgence in form of buying a large two liter of pop, extremely unhealthy, sugary and oh so satisfying on this warm day.
Maaaay have bought some mini white chocolate chips too :D

Today's act of self-care consisted of cleansing myself in the shower and doing a Viking braid. Though it doesn't come out anywhere near Thor-level

My acts of self-care were that I left work at a reasonable time and didn't stay late. I also treated myself to Takeaway Friday and got myself some take out food rather than exhausting myself with cooking! It's nice to just eat and then curl up on the sofa.
