Awh! I can't live without D.E.A.R. they had to stop it when our school closed the library for summer *sniffle*

I just wasted the whole afternoon playing on the 'French' settings :D I donated 5000 grains and got to level 10 of 10!! Despite being a non-French speaking/reading American! I feel so proud of myself! :D

So far I've donated 5180 grains of rice. It hasn't even been one day yet. If that picture is accurate thats 51.8 bowls. I'm still doing it! :D

EDIT: 6030 now!!!
EDIT 2: 7000! In one day! They will regret the day a twelve year old with a big volcaluary came onto their site.
EDIT 3: The site lies!!!... occasionally. Gnome does not mean dwarf, but I still picked dwarf anyway :D
EDIT 4: 8000 grains! That's 8000 correct answers!!! ... I need to get a life...
EDIT 5: You have now donated 9000 grains of rice. Please stop now or our sponsors will go bankrupt.
EDIT 6: This is an actual quote from what happens when you reach 10,000:
You have donated 10000 grains of rice.
Wow! Now THAT is impressive!

EDIT 7: I am finishing the day with 13000 grains of rice donated. That's 1300 questions btw.

Yeah, I would like to stop world hunger as much as the next guy, perhaps more, but why aren't we donating anything? To me, this is like sending in box tops to the schools, we aren't the one's actually donating. My family supports a few orphans, and I participated in donating a Christmas gift to a thing at church where they would send stuff like that to poor families in other countries. I guess what I'm wondering is, what is the company that's donating this stuff getting out of this deal? Are they advertising themselves, or what? If they were doing it out of the kindess of their hearts, they wouldn't need us to answer questions? I'm just wondering how this whole thing works?

It's kinda weird, you know. You know all those fund-raisers you see on TV? Ezspecially those huge ones with the movie stars and stuff? Yeah. Sometimes you'll get prizes for donating this amount, right? Why don't those companies simply donate money? Besides, you don't donate stuff because there's a car waiting to be won. You donate money cuz you care.
What? I am so not psycho.

True. Anyway, I wasn't trying to offend anyone, I'm just trying to figure out how this thing works.

Oh. I think it's the online participation oof people that gets noticed by a large company or something, then at the end of the day they collect all the rice together and ship it off....

I guess that makes sense. Companies will do many things to look popular, or maybe they were just planning on giving the rice away anyway, and thought this would help people get involved.
