Hrm, the way I see Artemis Fowl the Video Game would be much like Hero's Quest, King's Quest...hrm. There's a few more that I can't think of right now, but you pick your character and journey through different levels and areas with the certain character's abilities and beat the game! <3
Although, I think you could set this up to be a multi-player game and the rest of the characters are played by the computer. I think it would be kinda fun.

i think it would be cool to have an artemis fowl video game. you should be able to pick different charecters and play them in stroylines outside the book. for example, if you chose to be holly/butler/ maybe even trouble kelp you could fight like on lord of the rings. if you chose to be artemis/foaly you should be able to either plot to steal stuff or try and foil evil plots while stuck in your opperations booth wich has been constructed to your own paraniod standards with discraced L.E.P officer with a forehead like melted tar pointing a redboy blaster at the back of your head. gasp! choke!

Seems like the choice of characters is very important here
And some sort of levelling system?
Spiro - I quite like the idea of fighting from the op booth (so long as cudgeon aint there
)
What about storyline everyone? Perhaps invent some LEP missions for it? Or would yous want to stick totally to the book's plot?

I'd imagine an AF game to have one storyline, but each character would have different roles. Like Artemis and Foaly would mostly crack puzzles. The fighting would be left to Butler and Juliet and flying and zapping things to Holly and Root. It'd be kind of a mix between Puzzle/Action/RPG and if they could somehow manage to throw in some racing that would be awesome
You'd be able to have controls different than just your basic walk around and punch things. You could have aim like the 007 games and switch between guns and pilot Holly as if she were an Airplane...
I'm afraid I'll just keep babbling about the hundreds other possibilities

Sticking to the book would be quite "dull", if I may say so, for the avid readers. You know what happened in the game. If there were to be new missions, now that would be exciting. If it were in the Final Fantasy-type RPG Platform, it would be interesting. But, true enough, I think it would also be exciting(of not more) if it goes like The Lord of the Rings.

I like the sound of that. Many options = wide variety of things to do in game = good game!

Perhaps Holly and her wings could be the racing part you wanted? :unsure:
Hobboy - I wreckon it will be more LOTR style, than FF, as there just isnt enough for each character to do to equal up to a FF game. I mean, those FF games had SOOOO many attacks etc.
But yeah - New missions sounds way more fun
