They're Watching.

A weird horror-comedy. If it was billed as just comedy or just horror this would have been a flop. There are some super cheesy elements to it, some super-extra CGI too. But all in all, it was alright and I don't regret watching it :)

Hubie Halloween

About what I expected. (Which was not great.) Eh, at this point, I'm just happy to watch a "new" movie.

Fist Fight or Teacher Fight or whatever it's called was being played on the telly the other day.
Man, that Charlie Day is unbelievably annoying. I'm sure it's just his part, but I can't blame Ice Cube for wanting to beat him up. Anything to silence that grating voice.

Fill-In: Yes, anything. *pulls out phone* Hello, may I speak to Ice Cube? Yes, I'll hold.

I rewatched Quarantine, ironically enough. It still stands up! I have seen Rec and Quarantine and they are both as good as the other imo :)

I saw a flash of Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows Part 2 when I was out and about last night. It was the part where Ron and Hermione are in the Chamber of Secrets and Hermione stabs the horocrux cup with the Basilisk fang.

Like a book, sure, yeah. Maybe the locket. But a cup? Eh, who'm I to question it

Toy Story :D

I could be wrong, but I think this is the first time I've ever seen Toy Story on the "big screen" since when I saw it back when it first came out in 95. Still such an amazing roller coaster of a movie.

Snarky /\rty did come up with a "describe a film plot badly" gag...

I watched Cabin in the Woods last night before I went to bed. It is still such a good movie and I love how self-aware it is :awesome:

^ Hah yeah it does! :D

I rewatched Inception. It's been years and years since I watched it. It's still good and really clever and has excellent practical effects :D

Freaky 2020

I'm no horror buff, and even then, there are the different types of horror fans, those who love all of them, those who crave the particularly cheesy or gory ones, those aficionados who get more into the mental/psychological aspect of it.

I suppose I could fall under the generic category? (Bahah, cate-GORY)

Basically, what I'm attempting to ramp up to, I enjoyed it. I knew it wasn't Citizen Kane or some great art, but I'm kind of impressed with Blumhouse. They've come a way from Paranormal Activity to movies like Happy Death Day and The Invisible Man.

Is it bad my inner James A. Janisse was counting off the kills and handing out the awards for coolest/lamest kills?

I rewatched Shutter Island. Yup, I still like it, the lil clues all the way through aren't even subtle sometimes but you just miss them. :D

There's a few movies I've seen recently and want to ramble about....

Spider-Man Homecoming

Ned and Peter are invited to the party purely on the basis of Peter "knowing" Spider-Man and wanting to get him to invite the webhead along. Like what, you didn't tell him there was a party until the day of - and this looked like it was just slightly planned, you had DJ booth for Pete's sake! And I don't even think it's Liz that tells Peter about the dance...Flash freaking Thompson does.

Guardians of the Galaxy

I never noticed the skull hair beads that Gamora wears until now. So badass! Also noticed a difference in Mary's letter to Peter. I didn't catch it in time, but the letter starts off following along with the VO "I know these times have been difficult" and the letter goes on to say something with "because" but Mary's VO doesn't mention it.

There was a third movie I wanted to rant about as well...but mercifully for you all, I forgot

1922.

It's an adaptation of a Stephen King novella. I was really engaged and couldn't believe when it finished that I'd been sat glued there for an hour and 40 mins. It went by so quickly! It was a real slow burner with more atmosphere than spooks, luckily that's my favourite type of horror film so I really really enjoyed it :D Would recommend :)
