Caught the last bit of Guardians of the Galaxy. Real talk, I almost like Guardians a tad more than Avengers. That soundtrack man.

41. The production was good enough and I was enjoying it. But I started to lose interest in the final third, and by the end I was just like "meh". It has really good reviews, but I don't really understand why?

Again, caught the last bits of 2016's The Shallows. I've never actually seen it all the way through, but always thought it looked good.
CGI shark though...not so much.
Couldn't they have just gotten a real shark? Would that have been so hard?
Fill-In: Since we already have an Ant Rant....will this be filed under a Shark Bark?

The Hive.
Really good make-up and practical effects. But the pace of the film is way off, they move at 100mph constantly with a myriad of flashbacks, and it never slows down. I suspect that they didn't want the viewer reflecting on the story because there isn't one really. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. And the characters weren't likeable imo (apart from the receptionist at the medical tent). A solid 5/10 for meh.

Jaws
It's been ages since I've given that movie a proper watch. As of late, I mostly seem to have caught bits and pieces of it on just the telly. But now I've caught a little plot detail about Brody, that he and Ellen had moved to Amity to escape the craziness of the big city crimes and such. More so him. There's a scene at the hospital where Brody says to take their son Sean home and Ellen asks, "Home where? To New York?" and Brody goes, "No, home here." They trade looks. Ellen shoots an almost resentful tone but Brody is resolute in sticking it out here.
Then I finally gave Quint's speech a better listen - don't judge me, he speaks so softly!

A film called Eli on Netflix. A good spooky story, with a surprising ending! I actually enjoyed this one

I rewatched Annabelle Creation. Not too bad honestly. I am quite a fan of the Annabelle movies, apart from the most recent one, that was totally forgettable. But Annabelle Creation is quite alright and stands up imo.

Re: What Movie Did You Watch Last?
Lol. In my defense, it wasn't technically a proper play through; I sort of just chunked my way through.
Rambo: Last Blood
Oh my Kali.
I am so sorry I saw Terminator over Rambo, y'know, back when movie theaters were a thing. Yes, it was dark, and gritty, and depressing, and depicted parts of the world in a bad light....but man. I think what I liked was the simplicity.
It didn't try to be pretentious and have some over the top plot. It knew what it wanted and how it was going to get there.
I did lol a bit at the finale when he's staging his tunnels. I was watching with my niece and she asked what he was doing and I equated it to him pulling a Kevin McCallister.
(And yes, this gets a Kali over Odin for that one scene alone. So graphic!!!!)

I rewatched The Visit. It still stands up as a great film. I liked it the first time without knowing the ending. I liked it just as much the second time, knowing what was coming

Re: What Movie Did You Watch Last?
^Oh god, was that the one with the kids going to visit the grandparents?? That was the last movie I saw before leaving the country. I don't know why, but it was so freaky for me.
It was in my head for weeks afterward...
Rambo: First Blood 1982
I have to eat crow and say whoa.
This movie was not what I thought it would be about. I'd heard of Rambo and knew only the vague details of it, that Sylvester Stallone plays a bamf army dude who served in Vietnam.
I assumed FB was going to be a run of the mill war-action flick.
Nope. I won't do it justice to try and summarize it here, but I will simply say it's amazing how it still holds relevance in today's world with police brutality, protesters, and stereotyping.

^ Yup that is the very one
I rewatched Unfriended. I really like the way that the story is told and watching it on my laptop makes it so much more immersive.

I rewatched As Above, So Below. It is such a simple movie but so good and it always goes by so quickly because I'm so invested
