Movie Spoiler Policy

Post by Battery » Fri 5th Jun 2020

UPDATE 1/3/21: Movie spoilers are now free to post about anywhere on the forum as of the beginning of 2021!

Hey all!

Well, if you can believe it, the time has finally come: the Artemis Fowl movie releases next week, on June 12. We're all sitting at varying levels of excitement and trepidation, but for now let's just talk about spoilers.

For the first month after the movie releases, we're asking everyone to please keep spoiler talk contained in the appropriate thread in the Artemis Fowl - The Movie forum. Please also use spoiler tags when referencing specific plot points or scenes. Please be aware that posting spoilers outside of the designated area will get you a warning, and your post will be edited or deleted depending on how much of the content was spoiler-related.

The exceptions to this rule are the writing and art subforums! We encourage anyone who is inspired to create writing or art including spoilers for the movie to do so, but to please include "[Spoilers]" at the beginning of the thread title.

Once July 12 rolls around, posting spoilers anywhere in the movie forum will be okay so long as they are spoiler tagged, and at the end of the year (giving everyone the chance to get the movie for various gift-giving holidays), the entire board is fair game.

For those of you who might be new, here's how to use spoiler tags! At the beginning of the spoiler, type

Code: Select all
At the end, type

Code: Select all
Any text in between those two tags will be blacked out until moused over. If you're not sure you're doing it right, the Preview button will give you an idea! If it worked properly, then typing something like this:

Code: Select all

I can't believe some of the changes they made!
Artemis likes lollipops?!
should give you something like this:
I can't believe some of the changes they made! Artemis likes lollipops?!

Also, a reminder: regardless of your feelings on the movie or its casting, please be respectful of the child actors. It's fine to criticize so long as that criticism is civil, but please remember that they're kids (and that, for all we know, they could be reading what you wrote).

And that's about it for now! We hope as always that everyone is hanging in there.
