Well, it was only 4 years ago. And I don't think they know why exactly it didn't work. I don't see them as the type of people to try to fix it, anyway. What use would they have for clones??

It would be really cool if Root could come back but... cloning? It would just be way to weird. :?

Root is dead! Let me spell it out for you: D-E-A-D!!! They can't just bring Root back to life. Especially when his body exploded! Cloning? Foaly wouldn't make a clone. All clones can do is sit there. Besides, it would just be a reminder that Root was dead!

Well what if they still talk to an imaginary Root and they needed a reminder that Root was dead?

Has anyone ever read Channeling Cleopatra? In that book, they found a way to use someone's DNA to duplicate their personality inside someone else. Maybe the fairies could create a clone of Julius, then use the process (I've forgotten the term for it) to put his personality into the shell?

I don't think so. I mean the idea that Foaly could do that would be AWESOME! but really I don't think it would work out. He died and we went half of one book without him and a whole OTHER book without him, I think were good. Once someone dies they must stay that way. Unless they get fixed within the next chapter or so.

I really don't think so. Colfer is going to bring Julius back or he could have lawsuits from a lot of people on his hands. They'd be suing for severe emotianal trauma.

Ah, but that would cause a time paradox, that would lead to Artemis NEVER EVER getting his memory of faries back, therefore they COULDN'T go back in time to fix something that would never happen if they did.
Think about that real hard and I think it makes sense.

Changing the past= BAD!!!!
It's been drummed into my head in almost every book involving time travel I've ever read. Read The Golden Hour if you don't believe me!

ahem. it would most likely make the past better! Some people are just too chicken to do it.

It probably won't make the past better. Butterfly effect, anyone? It's best to leave the past as it is, you learn stuff from it. It happened for a reason. If Root wasn't dead, Artemis couldn't have made it up with Holly a little bit in TTP.

Still, even if you can't change the past, the future is open to influences from all sides. Seriously, the blending idea (that was what the DNA personality-cloning process was called) would work. Maybe Julius could be blended with Vinyáya?
