HOLY FLUFFNUGGETS ON A STICK, NO WAI :D :D :D
SMILEYS AND CAPSLOCK CANNOT EXPRESS MY FANGIRLY JOY

I knew it was being written, but I didn't think it would be confirmed this early! And it's not too long to wait, either!

Maybe this board'll come back to life a little more now!

I feel all light and fangirly :D

Ok, I think I woke my parents up squeeing about this XD

Well this is splendid. It figures he would use Atlantis as the Opal of the Present is encaged in a cube somewhere in Atlantis.

He didn't use the Atlantis prison in B6, and supposedly the 'Atlantis Complex' refers to a disorder ... but what about Opal? Or, I guess we should say, the Opals? I can't see how he wouldn't bring them both into play as the ultimate final battle, if this is the final book ... which means the Atlantis prison complex does come into play. Hmm. I'm so curious, and I hate waiting! 8)

Hey, I bumped into somthing on AFC that will interest you guys.

Kitsune Heart wrote:Okay! So, I just got back from the Colfer signing/talk/Q&A at Keplar's in Menlo Park, and there is BIG NEWS.

He gave plot details on the coming book! I am trying to reproduce his story as closely to what he said as possible. It was pretty friggen funny.

A few months ago, Colfer got a call from his editor, asking how the next book was going. They were approaching a deadline and needed to get production under way. Colfer was barely into the book, which worried the editor, who asked if Colfer had anything for him to go on. Colfer said yes. The title: "The Atlantis Complex." The editor is appeased and goes off to work his magic.

A few weeks ago, Colfer receives a file from his editor and a note saying that the cover artist just finished the art. Colfer opens the file and...it's a picture of Artemis swimming through deep waters with a big city floating in the background.

Uh...oh....

See..."The Atlantis Complex" is not a place. It's a complex. As in a mental disorder.

In this book, Artemis develops a fairy mental disorder that is roughly akin to multiple personality disorder. And Artemis's new personality is...nice. Artemis all of a sudden becomes this really nice guy. Who can't plot to save his--or anyone else's--life. Which is inconvenient, because all of their lives are in danger. Artemis's friends must decide whether to let Artemis remain as he is...or make him the little prat he was in order to save the day.

Well...as I said, the cover art was done. Colfer looks at it and his editor mentions that it cost a lot of money. And...well...

"The Atlantis Complex" is now a book about Artemis with the Atlantis Complex...set in Atlantis.

Got to love the guy. Guess we'll be seeing more of the fairy realms, now! Sadly, he also said that the book is most likely coming out in August, not July, since he is a bit behind. Still...think this little tidbit will hold anyone over until then? If not...well...there's always fanfiction.

Haha, that's what you get for making such a weird title xD
Poor Colfer, though, now he has to change his entire story.

He was joking about the book cover, they would never do anything other the concept art unless the book was finished.

@ hiholly123
He was actually pretty short, like 5' 4" or something, but he was wearing a very well tailered suit. I posted the podcast of him talking over in the "Eoin Colfer and his other books" forum. Check it out if you haven't heard it yet!

No offence, but I've had enough of Atlantis.

Indy went to Atlantis, Disney did Atlantis, and I really don't wanna read about it in Artemis Fowl.

But I will anyway, even though Atlantis is now somewhat over-rated....
"People are gonna tell you who you are your whole life. You just gotta punch back and say, "No, this is who I am". You want people to look at you differently? Make them! You want to change things, you're gonna have to go out there and change them yourself, because there are no fairy godmothers in this world." - Emma Swan, Once Upon A Time.
